Assisted Reproductive Techniques

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is an Assisted Reproductive Treatment that involves putting sperm inside a female uterus to achieve pregnancy. The motive of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and increase the chance of pregnancy.

In Vitro Fertilization is a technique by which an egg is fertilized by sperm outside the body that is why in Vitro fertilization. The process involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovary, after which ovums are removed and allowing sperm to fertilize them in a lab. The fertilized egg is harvested for 2–5 days in the lab and is then implanted in the uterus, with the intention of getting a successful pregnancy.
